Hello everyone, this will be a brief post, but I wanted to share the actual resolution passed by the Boards & Commissions Committee on Monday.
I had the opportunity to speak, and a recording is available, although it is audio only. You can listen here (I start at 0:55 seconds, and the resolution itself starts at 54:30.)
You can also see the changes below, compared to the ones I initially suggested.
While I didn’t get 100% of what I wanted, it appears that enough of these changes will occur to achieve the overall end goal. So, I will consider this a success.
After the Waco City Council officially passes it on September 12, the next step will be to determine whether boards and commissions implement these changes, and then to measure their effectiveness in terms of attendance and removal for those who are absent. And this all stemmed from my frustrations with the attendance and transparency issues I identified and reported on a year ago in a previous post.
I wanted to get this done because if I didn’t, then I realized I was also responsible for the problem. It’s one thing to be mad and vent frustrations online; it’s another thing to take action and bring about the necessary changes we want to see in our community and the world.
I hope you can do the same, and don’t hesitate to reach out if I can help you with this in any way.

So, what are the changes?
